In the Netherlands alone, around 320 facilitators administer more than 65.000 ayahuasca doses annually. While some participants travel abroad, the vast majority of Dutch ayahuasca consumption (87.6%) takes place domestically. The expansion of the ayahuasca retreat market raises legal, regulatory, and societal questions, including about safety, health risks, and facilitator training. And more fundamentally: should ayahuasca retreat centers be\u00a0 regulated under clearly defined conditions?<\/p><p>Floris Moerkamp will speak about recent developments in the European ayahuasca market. To facilitate well-informed debates about policy and regulation, he created an online portal that aims to collect input from relevant stakeholders.
